Mama Bear out of Hibernation

My feet are walking.
Bluegrass in my ears.
Sun on my shoulders.
The smell of Spring's blooms bursting.
My heart is so full of happiness.

Speaking of Mama's..... maybe it was the way my Mama played her banjo for me when I was a kid.  Maybe it was the way she sewed her own banjo case, and clothes for me, and my dolls.   Either way, I was hooked on that twangy sound of those strings and sewing.  It is amazing how Mamas shape our thoughts and influence our lives passions.  That power a Mama has can be a good thing or a bad.  In my case, it was definitely a good thing.  Use your powers for good Mamas of the world!

Get Down Button Down, Up-cycled Grateful Dead Stealie Roses Shirt, Size 3T This rockin' shirt is unique, comfy, and green! Upcycled shirt was rescued and turned into something you can be grateful for. This is a one-of-a-kind!

Cotton, size 3T, short-sleeved, button down, blue shirt. All business in front and a party in the back! Black buttons. Pale blue embroidery stripes. Two front pockets that button.

Handmade applique stitched on back of shirt. Fabric has the infamous GD Stealie and lavender roses.  If you are a Dead fan or know someone who is, it is promised to be a hit. Stitched in blue thread.

Great for boys or girls. Three creme color snaps in front. Creme top-stitching detail on shirt.  Handmade applique stitched on back of shirt.  Now this set has become an instant hit!  I have 3 left in stock.  It is the perfect baby shower gift.  The item is called the Grateful Dead Dancing Bear, Burp Cloth Set of Three, made to order.

Now let me tell you all about why these are so special.  They are a set of three burp cloths bundled up and ready for gift giving! Tied with a sweet bow and perfect for baby showers or to add sunshine daydreams to any day!

These cloths have been rewashed and shrunk before sewing. Each cloth is about 12.5" x 17.5".

First I take 3 new, 100% cotton Gerber prefold cloths that have a 3-ply 100% polyester, super absorbent, pad down the middle, and give them a gentle wash in some Rockin' Green (Classic Rock, Unscented) detergent. (Any phosphate detergent will do, but I think this is the best brand (IMHO).....and only the best for my wares ;)

Then, they tumble around in the dryer so that when you wash and dry them, they don't shrink.

I take some (also per-washed) custom designed and printed, cotton fabric to make a chunky stripe down the middle. (Aaand the Dead fabric is custom designed using Eco-friendly printing technology that uses water-based inks! This process has minimal waste! Pretty rad, right?)

One cloth is done in dancing bear and lightning bolts, one is done in green and purple collared dancing bears, and one is done in orange, lavender, and white with a handmade dancing bear applique. Bear colors will vary from order to order.

The stitching on these guys are are in bright orange thread that is not only durable, but done in a beautiful design around the edging. Then I add a Jam'n Jellybeans label to one of them and viola.......the most jammin' burp cloths are born!

I am sure any Dead fan would agree. These are prefect for a baby shower gift or a gift to give just because you know an awesome baby! Be the envy of the babies at the festivals this summer and order yours today!

The front bodice of the dress is made from a custom designed and printed, cotton fabric, to look like Jon Fishman's Henrietta Dress! Aaand the Donut fabric is custom designed using Eco-friendly printing technology that uses water-based inks! This process has minimal waste! Pretty rad, right? I added a chunky strip of a gorgeous floral print in hues of purples and magenta and then dead center is a strip of another custom-printed cotton fabric featuring the dancing bears! (in a very rare print that is now retired!!!)

Short sleeves are made up of that same floral.

The back of the bodice is the donut fabric with the floral chunky stripe down the back but instead of the stripe of dancing bears, the back has just one happy little dancing bear.

Stitched in purple thread. Proudly labeled with a Jam'n Jellybeans clothing tag.

Sacred Word of the Year Challenge!

Good vibes and good morning to you all.

I have a small challenge for you that will surely improve your day,  and your year.  I have set some time this early morn for devotion to my amazing workbook of mine.  (You can have one of your own!  Just click here.  And NO it is not too late in the year to start!  Ya gotta start somewhere babe and today is as good a day as any.)

I worked on my "Word for the year" and I challenge you all to do the same.  Go ahead.  It will be fun!

The workbook says " If you could pick a theme as a power word, or affirmation of what you'd like to experience & focus on for your year, what would it be?"

My sacred word for 2015 is...

I can see exactly where I want to end up.  Some days the path on how to get there isn't exactly clear.  So, what do you do?  EXPLORE!  Explore around.  Check out new paths.  New options.  New ways of doing things, making things, thinking, moving.  Find new spaces and places in your mind and in the outside world until you find that beautiful place that you are looking to be!

Don't be afraid to try something new.  If that isn't working for you you can change direction again....and again.....and even again.  There are no set rules for you to live by, my friend.  It's ok to explore.

I give myself permission, in fact I summons myself to to just that......EXPLORE.  This is the year to do it.  It feels right within my bones.  I am SOoooo excited about this.  I know exploration leads to adventure and being the gypsy heart that I am, I just love a good ole adventure!

I just want to fill you all up this morning!

My sewing machine is sick today.

It is out of commission and I absolutely cannot use it.  Being a creative junkie, I decided to send you all my love and light by using words and pictures today.
